Americans and Russians Discuss Investments at Harvard
Over 100 prominent Russian government leaders and business executives
participated in the U.S.-Russian Investment Symposium on Financial and
Direct Investment Opportunities in Russia held at Harvard University from
January 9 to12. Among the contributors were Boris Berezovsky, Deputy Secretary
of the Russian Federation Security Council; Alfred Kokh, Chairman of the
Russian Federation State Property Committee; and Vladimir Kossov, Deputy
Minister of Economics. Organized by Harvard University's John F. Kennedy
School of Government, the Conference Board, and the U.S.-Russia Business
Council with the support of the ARCCI and several other major organizations
promoting U.S.-Russian business partnership, the Symposium attracted about
500 participants. Distinguished representatives from the U.S. side contributed
to the Symposium's success, among them Larry Summers, Deputy Secretary
of the Treasury; Richard Morningstar, Special Assistant to the U.S. President
and Secretary of State of Assistance to the NIS; Ruth Harkin, President
and CEO of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation; David Badger, Vice
President of Mars, Inc.; and many representatives of the U.S. business
community.
